How to Make Cannabis Stem Tea

What is Cannabis Stem Tea?

Cannabis Stem Tea is made using Cannabis stems which are part of the Cannabis plant that is not typically smoked. These stems have many health benefits, such as easing digestion and relieving pain.

The idea behind Cannabis Stem Tea is that it contains Cannabinoids that have an anti-inflammatory agent that can be very beneficial for people living with arthritis.

Another benefit of using Cannabis stem tea is that you can consume it without getting very high from THC in the plant because there are fewer psychoactive effects when only using the plant’s stems and leaves.

Cannabis has been used medicinally for centuries. The ancient Indian Ayurvedic texts, which date back to 1500 BC, describe Cannabis as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. In modern times, CBD has anti-inflammatory properties that help with inflammation-linked conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The Benefits of Cannabis Stem Tea

Cannabis stem tea is made from the stems and leaves of the Cannabis plant. Cannabis stem tea is a good option for those looking for a less concentrated way of getting high.

Cannabis tea releases cannabinoids more slowly and steadily, reducing undesirable side effects like anxiety or paranoia.

The benefits are plentiful, but it’s essential to know that Cannabis tea does not produce a high in the same way that smoking or consuming edibles might.

Cannabis stem tea also has other benefits: boosting your immune system, reducing inflammation and pain, relieving anxiety and depression.

Cannabis Stem Tea provides many health benefits for seniors. One of the most common conditions that Cannabis can help with is inflammation, nausea, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. Cannabis Stem Tea For Senior’s Digestive Systems?

Cannabis is not just for young people anymore. Seniors are using Cannabis to help with their digestion, chronic pain, and various other ailments.

Cannabis stem tea can be an excellent solution for an older adult’s digestive system. It helps with the lack of appetite and nausea of certain illnesses by stimulating stomach acid production. One should take care when consuming Cannabis if they have a history of heart problems as it can cause an increase in the heart rate.

One of the most common complaints about Cannabis by elders is that it affects their brain activity and memory. While some say they have noticed no such change in their brain function, others say they have been affected by Cannabis and their medications.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¼ – ½ oz Decarboxylated Weed stems You can decide whether to grind them or not
  • 4 cups Water Distilled

Use ONE of the following

  • ½ cup Milk Can substitute for plant based milk
  • 15 ml Alcohol of choice
  • ½ tbsp butter Can substitute for coconut oil

Instructions

  • Pour the 4 cups of distilled water into your saucepan. If you've decided to use milk or butter, add this now. If you've decided to go the alcohol route, keep this for later use.
  • If you make use of a reusable tea bag, I suggest grinding the stems. Once grounded, fill the tea bag and you are good to go. Skip this step if not making use of a reusable tea bag, by simply adding the stems to the boiling water.
  • Bring to water to a boil. Add the decarbed Weed stems and gently stir for the next 8 – 10 minutes ensuring the stems bind with the fat molecules.

  • Remove from the heat. If you've decided to make use of alcohol, add it now and stir.
  • It is time to strain. If you used a reusable tea bag, simply remove the bag. If you skipped this step, strain the tea through the coffee filter into another pot. Add your desired flavorings and allow to steep. Enjoy hot or cold.

Notes

Pro Tip:
Using a French Press is an easy way to strain out the stems.  If you decided to ground the stems, still strain through a tea sieve or coffee filter before serving.

Tips for Making the Perfect Cannabis Stem Tea

Be sure to cut off all the solid pieces of the stem and use only the soft inside stem covered in downy white hairs called trichomes. These hairs contain concentrated THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids extracted through boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Once steeped, remove from heat and let it cool down before pouring over ice for a delicious beverage or pouring into a mug for a warm, soothing drink on cold days.

How much Cannabis should you add to Stem Tea?

We cannot answer this question with certainty, as it depends on what type of Cannabis you use and the desired effect. Some strains are more stimulating, while others are more calming. Some strains have a low THC content, while other strains have a higher one.

Add at least 2 grams of ground-up Weed (flower will give a more substantial effect than leaf & stem?) to your tea if you want to get high. At the same time, if you wish to get the medicinal benefits without getting “too” high from Cannabis, then add 1 gram or less depending on how strong you would like the tea to be.

Choosing the right amount of Weed to add to your tea will ultimately depend on how much you want your tea to affect you. For beginners, it’s always a good idea to start with less and gradually increase the dose as needed.  I find keeping a “consumption diary” can help at first.

The best way to find out how much Cannabis you should use is by experimentation!

Making Cannabis Stem Tea taste better (additions)

How to Make Cannabis Stem Tea long glass

When tasting Cannabis Stem Tea for the first time, many people will negatively respond because of the flavor. Adding in ingredients like ginger and honey can help mask the flavor of Marijuana and make it taste better.

Making Cannabis stem tea taste better can be done by adding different ingredients to the tea itself, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Some people like to add milk or cream to their canna-tea as well.

  • Adding salted caramel or vegan vanilla extract to Cannabis stem tea is a popular way to alter the taste.

  • Adding mint leaves to a Cannabis tea will make it sweeter and more flavorful. It also has the added benefit of being a natural mosquito repellent!

  • Add some peppermint extract to your Cannabis tea for a refreshing aftertaste.

  • Add mint leaves for a refreshing taste

  • Add honey for a sweet taste

  • Add ginger for an exciting flavor

  •  Add cayenne pepper for an extra kick

  • Add cinnamon sticks to combat nausea

Cannabis stem tea dangers and side effects (precautions)

While Cannabis stem tea is a natural drink, it is not without its risks and side effects. It can result in side effects like drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, and constipation. It also affects your reflexes which can have severe implications while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Storing, Dosing, and Serving Your Homemade Herbal Infusions

When making Cannabis stem tea, you mustn’t use boiling water as this can destroy the medicinal compounds in Marijuana.

There are many different ways you can store, dose, and serve your herbal Cannabis infusions. It all depends on your needs and how often you need to use the infusion.

First, let’s go over the different ways you can store them:

  • refrigerator: this is good for infusions that need to be stored for a couple of weeks

  • Freezer: this is good for infusions that need to be stored for up to six months.  I suggest freezing in serving sizes for ease of use.

  • cupboard/room temperature is best if you infuse things regularly or if it will only take a few hours before you’re going to consume them.

How to Use Cannabis in a Dose to Boost your Immunity and Prevent Illness

The way that Cannabis interacts with our system is different from many other medicines. When we ingest Cannabis, it interacts with cannabinoid receptors in our body and brain to trigger a response. The activated receptors affect how we respond to the medication – some people may have different reactions to the same amount of ingestion due to genetics and tolerance. There is no “one size fits all” dose for Cannabis products or treatments.
