Weed Tincture Recipe
Equipment
- 2 Mason Jar 8 oz/½ pint size
- Crockpot or heavy base saucepan with lid
- Cheesecloth or unused pantyhose
Ingredients
- 7 g Decarboxylated Weed high quality indoor. You may increase or decrease the quantity based on your preference.
- ½ cup High proof alcohol such as Everclear
Instructions
- Decarboxylate (decarb) your Weed if not done already - see our easy instructions in this link
- Grind the decarbed Weed and place it in the mason jar.
- Line a clean dishcloth in the crockpot or heavy base pot. Place the mason jar you intend to use on the cloth and fill the pot with water until the mason jar is at least 3/4 covered. Remove the jar.
- Preheat heat the water to 185°F. Use the digital thermometer to accurately measure the temperature throughout the cooking process.
- Add the Everclear or similar high-proof alcohol, close the jar and shake well.
- Carefully lower the mason jar into the water bath when it has reached 185°F.
- Cover the pot and simmer at this temperature for up to 8 hours."Burp" the bottle every 30 odd minutes to avoid any pressure buildup.
- Remove the jar from the water bath and allow it to cool slightly.
- Line the mouth of the second jar with cheesecloth or unused pantyhose. Carefully strain the mixture into the jar.
- Securely tie the cheesecloth and twist as you squeeze out every last drop.
- Decant the tincture mixture in a sterilized amber glass dropper pipette bottle.
- The tincture is now ready to use.
